Drip Paintings

Fluidity on Canvas

The Drip Paintings Collection is inspired by the fluidity and unpredictability of the way paint falls on the canvas. Each and every pour of paint creates a unique shape that can never be recreated. And when combined, these drips tell a story and reflect the process of time. Who knows where each drip will fall? That is the beauty of this collection, complete individuality in every piece.

I draw inspiration from everything around me. During the lockdowns, it came from the simple things like being in nature while walking my dog through Windsor. For this collection, I took photos, sketches, recordings and notes of the colours and beauty around me and then translated that into art.

All artworks in the Drip Paintings Collection have been created on canvas. Unlike boards, the paint absorbs, spreads, blends, and drips on canvas in a unique way. The pouring technique used has generated the stunning dripping effect.

Like many of my works, pieces from the Drip Paintings collection have been presented in a series. When seen alone, each painting has a simple mark and message. When together, they form a story. Like letters in the alphabet, when presented together, they produce a complete sentence.
